What does a fearless life look like to you?

Fear is undoubtedly something we have all encountered in our lives. It is an essential part of the human experience. Perhaps this is recent, perhaps it is a distant memory. Often times, this fear stems from a central place or experience of hurt. Maybe we remember the hurt, or maybe it is ambiguous, maybe it is ancestral or cultural but fear is a response to a memory of pain. It holds information for us at each occasion it arises - each time in a new form, a new location, with a new name. Some fears are more tangible, more present, more difficult to overcome. But they have the same hold on our hearts and on our actions while it remains.

So what does a fearless life look like to you?

For each of us, the response is deeply personal. It requires answering our individual call to action in a place of hurt. This requires deep listening, and healing. It requires courage. Courage understands the sensitive nature of our own humanity… without that we have only hubris and disregard.

Fear feels to me to be a maintained state of limited options. It acts on our central nervous system and holds us in a state of fright, fight, freeze or fawn - no matter if what we fear is real, remembered or imagined! We become cut off from our resources - our personal power. And we are trapped in a place of repeating the same situation. Unable to express any other part of ourself than the one that has existed in this responsive state.

To me, living fearlessly is a practice of continued dreaming. One where I show up each day and imagine something a little bit differently. Something different from yesterday. Not striving - but the practice of getting curious about my edges and walking towards them. Asking the questions I had once been unaware of asking, and following inner knowing to answer. Fearlessness beckons us to not only acknowledge and embrace the vulnerable aspects of ourselves but also to explore what lies beyond them.

This radical act of courage asks us to illuminate the most vulnerable parts of ourselves - no easy task! But it also becomes an act of discovering resiliency and possibility, if we are willing to venture into the unknown.

“To live fearlessly is not to deny the existence of fear - but to acknowledge it.
To witness our edges and thresholds…and to grow with them and around them.”

As an astrologer and spiritual coach, I am applying these words to arenas of personal healing and growth. But this very same medicine is what moves us through times of unfathomable change and loss - such that we are collectively and acutely experiencing right now. We must be able to imagine a different world in order to create it. Acknowledging that we are vulnerable beings who hurt and feel and still activating our personal power through choice and voice is the way that we create new options. Not only on the individual level. but as a collective.

Fearlessness is the energy of possibility. And part of that energy of possibility is imagining how your life can be different. Imagining what is possible for you. What you are able to create, and how you are able to help others in return. Our collective dream begins with ourselves! The more we imagine we are able to become - the more we are able to contribute and create real, lasting, effective change because we become the embodiment of that fearlessness.

So, where do we begin with this? Curiosity.

Here are some prompts for feeling into your fearless self.

  • What parts of me need to be seen and heard that I am protecting?

  • What could be, if not this?

  • In all that I am seeing and feeling, what possibilities am I not seeing?

  • Where do I already see fearless aspects of self? How have I already succeeded?

  • Does my vision of the future include compassion for the present?

Are you experiencing transformational change in your life and facing fear? You have everything you need to begin, let me show you how to step into your personal power.
